Waiting

As I hang my head while you do the talking
I realize that I'm never walking
beside you
Always behind you
So please decide now what you want to do
'cause I'm not waiting for you
we're slowly fading into our new moon
and I'm not waiting for you
As I lay awake staring at the ceiling
I wonder what life would be like being
without you
I wish I knew
So please decide now what you want to do
'cause I'm not waiting for you
we're slowly fading into our new moon
and I'm not waiting for you
You have got to stop falling falling on your knees
I'm not waiting for you
You have got to stop slowly crawling back to me
I'm not waiting for you
Now I've thought it through with the best intension
what we had was good but I can't be second
on your list
But I doubt I'll be missed
So I'll decide now for you what to do
'cause I'm not waiting for you
we're slowly fading into our new moon
and I'm not waiting for you

Going higher, lost in thoughts of leaving you
Aiming nowhere as I slowly think it through
I start to wonder
Would you lift me if I needed to be lifted?
Would you cure me if this pain of mine persisted?
All the emptiness around me:
is it enough to call your name?
Would I love you or only use you?
And I wonder if I've abused
Softly screaming,
"Don't you know my intentions were good?
I meant no harm. I wish you understood"
I start to wonder
Would you lift me if I needed to be lifted?
Would you cure me if this pain of mine persisted?
All the emptiness around me:
is it enough to call your name?
All the emptiness around me:
is it enough to call your name?

I walk up to the railway platform
With no hesitation grab a ticket and I climb aboard
A man asks if I know where I'm headed
and I say, "No but it's all the same to me"
And I decide to leave
with my infelicity
can't you see
I'm falling down trying to get away from you
I'm calling you out for coercing me to move
Away from my own home town
I'm falling down falling down trying to get away
I think of things I'm leaving
just to waste the time
as we keep moving past these stops of mine
The tracks start to spiral down
I realize we're not stopping now
can't you see that I'm
Falling down trying to get away from you
I'm calling you out for coercing me to move
Away from my own home town
I'm falling down falling down trying to get away
I'm falling down trying to get away from you
I'm calling you out for coercing me to move
Away from my own home town
I'm falling down falling down trying to get away
I'm falling down trying to get away from you
I'm calling you out for coercing me to move
Away from my own home town
I'm falling down falling down just to get away

Patient Zero

Feel the ground fall beneath my feet
The air is thick with people I can't see
And I'm stone cold from the violence in my head
Tell this ghost of mine to stick around
like a past-time long ago
can't pull myself out
I follow an impulse that's not my own
While I'm walking through the street alone
I touch my head to the asphalt seeing red
Now tell this ghost of mine to stick around
'Cause I just want to stay here
Know what to do, feel I've done it before
but my time ran out long ago
to pull myself out
It crawls inside
Feel it tearing the back of my eyes
So easy to give into you
It crawls inside
I need something to nullify
my pain
Where's my mind
I need desperately to know if I'm
insane
Are we destined to live this lie?
Are we destined to live this lie?
Are we destined to live this lie?
